Carl J. Deiter of Clarksville passed away Friday, March 25, 2011 at the age of 86. Carl was born in Escanaba, Michigan December 1, 1924 to the late Jessie and Daisy (Burr) Deiter. He was a retired Chicago Northwestern railroad engineer. He also served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars. He was of the Lutheran faith. He is survived by his wife, Paula of Clarksville; sons, Bruce Deiter of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dean Deiter of Centerville, Tennessee; fourteen grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Richard and Robert Deiter of Escanaba and Donald Deiter of Alturas, California; a sister, Pearl Allard of Escanaba; a nephew, Kyle Deiter; a niece, Patsy Floth of Bark River, Michigan; and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tommy Sumner officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Head Cemetery in Clarksville with full military honors. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service (10:00 a.m.) at the funeral home.
