Dollie Revell

Dollie Langston Revell, age 102, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011, in Tallahassee, Florida at the Margaret Z. Dozier Hospice House. She was born October 4, 1908 in Wakulla County to Charlie Caleb Elijah and Mary Frances Langston. She was the youngest of five children who preceded her in death. She professed Christ at an early age and was a member of the Mount Beasor Primitive Baptist Church in Sopchoppy, Florida. She graduated from high school in Sopchoppy after she married Charlie Clinton Revell September 6, 1931. She moved to Liberty County when she was about twelve years old and lived on the home place until she was ninety-nine years old. At that time she moved to Magnolia House in Quincy, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Clinton Revell and two sons, Dykes and Guyte Revell. She is survived by sons, Garard Revell and his wife, Mable of Tallahassee and Wyatt Revell and his wife, Nell of Thomasville, Georgia; one daughter, Duane Revell of Plant City, Florida; six grandchildren, Kimberly Mitchell and her husband, Harry H. (Chip), Wallace Revell of Tallahassee, Lisa Scott and her husband, James M. (Jimmy) and Paula Allen of Thomasville; Wayne Revell and his wife, Kate of Pleasanton, California, and Sheri Benjamin and her husband, Steve of Saratoga, California; seven great-grandchildren, Heather and Amber Allen of Thomasville, Megan and Cody Benjamin of Saratoga, Adria, Ben and Justin of Pleasanton. Funeral services will be held 2:00 ET, Monday, January 17 at Mount Beasor Primitive Baptist Church in Sopchoppy with Reverend Bruce Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Revell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00 ET, Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Margaret Z. Dozier Hospice House in Tallahassee, Florida or Mount Beasor Primitive Baptist Church in Sopchoppy.
