Gary A. Watterson, age 80, a Certified Public Accountant in Tallahassee, Florida for fifty years, died in Blountstown, Florida on Monday, September 17, 2012. Gary was born in Jacksonville, Florida and lived for many years in Tallahassee before moving to Blountstown. He was a member of Blountstown First Baptist Church and was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard. Gary enjoyed playing his guitar and singing at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Shirley (Prescott) Watterson; his brother, Gerald; a sister, Jacqueline; a daughter, Selena Williams Burke; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Watterson. Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Imogene Watterson, of Blountstown; sons, Bruce Watterson of Tallahassee, Sean Watterson and his wife Bridgette of New York, NY, Steve Williams and his wife Wendy of Altha, Florida, and Dillon Burke of Blountstown; daughters, Stephanie Williams of Blountstown, Sheila Shelton and her husband Greg of Altha, Shelly Smith and he husband Ronnie also of Altha, and Kayla Burke of Blountstown; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Eddy Watterson and his wife Edie of Hobe Sound, Florida. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Blountstown First Baptist Church with Bud Guilford and Dustin Malphurs officiating.
