Glinda Walden Morrison, a beloved cosmetologist and an engaging spirit, passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 75, in Tallahassee, Florida. Born on November 19, 1949, in Quincy, Florida, Glinda's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with joyful experiences and cherished relationships.
Throughout her career as a cosmetologist, Glinda brought beauty and care to her clients, sharing not just her skills but also her warmth and kindness. She will be remembered not only for her professional contributions but also for her vivacious personality. Glinda had a passion for attending bluegrass festivals, where she loved meeting new people and enjoying meaningful conversations along the way. Her love of nature was evident in her heartfelt devotion to planting flowers on her porch, creating a serene and inviting space that reflected her nurturing spirit. She also relished the simple pleasure of fishing, finding peace and happiness by the water.
Glinda is survived by her husband, George Franklin Morrison; her brother, Newton Walden; her sisters, Myrtle Richards and Betty Brantley-Dunn, along with her husband, Ernie; as well as five nieces and nephews, six great nephews, eight great great nieces and nephews, and one great great great niece. Each of her family members will carry forward her legacy of love and connection.
She is predeceased by her father, George M. Walden; her mother, Rozelle Peddie Walden; and her son, Glenn Darrell Nix. Their memories remain woven into the fabric of her life, and Glinda will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be held on February 27, 2025, at Meacham Cemetery in Bristol, Florida. The service will begin at 2:00 PM, EST with friends and family invited to gather and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman.
Glinda Walden Morrison leaves behind a legacy filled with love, kindness, and laughter. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
