James Bush

James Bush Sr. was born Mary 14, 1947, in Grand Ridge, Florida to the late Ezellar Bush and Rosie L. (Nealy) Bush. James accepted Christ and joined St. Rose AME Church showered with the Holy Spirit as he was baptized at Ocheesee River Landing on a bright sunny cool Sunday morning. He was joined in holy matrimony to Margaret (Madry) Bush, August 28, 1971, sharing fifty years of precious, unforgotten memories. To this union two sons were born. James was preceded in death by the youngest, the late Jermain Anzio Bush. He received his education in the public schools of Calhoun County where class was taught in the old school church building and later attended Mayhaw school in Blountstown, Florida. He and his oldest sibling, John Henry, has a lifetime work experience in the landscaping and wood industry with Chipola Timber Company in Blountstown. The two were known as the Bush Bothers (a working duo).His main hobbies were fishing and being a part of the sports industry. He loved to play community baseball where he was a pitcher for the St. Rose Red Devils and St. Rose Tigers. He also loved streetcar racing in the old days, never losing a race. He later decided that he wanted to get into professional motorcycle racing, becoming the original and proud owner of J.B. Racing in 1995 as he traveled the world. His son Jr. has continued to carry on his legacy. His team is now called “Team Becky” and is the proud owner of a motorcycle and a race car. He and his team continue to travel the world.Brother James Bush, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 1, 2022, as he gently closed his eyes and whispered, “Goodbye” world” at Bay Medical Select Hospital in Panama City.He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Jermain Anzio Bush; his oldest granddaughter, Kenyetta Latorya Bush; three sisters, Leoma Bush Summarll (Leonard); Bertha Bush Holmes (Freddie) and Susie Bush Holmes (Leonard).He leaves to cherish his memories forever, a sweet and devoted loving wife, Margaret Bush; his oldest son, James Bush, Jr. and his companion, Shaye Lever; his siblings, John Henry Bush of Perry, Florida, William “L.J.” Bush of Orlando Florida, Leon Charles Bush and his wife Letha of Grand Ridge, Florida; two sisters, Alice Moore of Orlando, Florida, Stella Thomas of Blountstown, Florida; his granddaughters, Kimberly Simone Dawson and her companion Albert Johnson III of Blountstown, Florida, Jatoria Bush and Keonna Bush both of Tampa, Florida; his grandsons, Christopher Floyd of Tallahassee, Florida, Zachery Jaylen Bush, James Bush III, Sebastian James Bush and Major Ezellar Bush all of Tampa, Florida and their mothers, Victoria Dawson of Tampa, Florida and Elisa Floyd of Bainbridge, Georgia; his great grandson, Cameron Floyd of Bainbridge Georgia; a great granddaughter Parish Floyd of Blountstown, Florida.Brother in laws, the late Grant W Madry, Curtis Madry and his companion Mary Lou of Chattahoochee, Florida; John L. Madry and his wife Gladys of Chattahoochee, Florida, Roosevelt Hannah Jr. of Tallahassee, Florida, Colby Hearns Jr. and his wife Theresa of Tampa, Florida; his sisters in law, Dorothy Koonce of Quincy Florida; the late Equilla Colston, the late Clementine Madry. His first cousins who was very dear to his heart and lived like brothers and sisters, Leroy (Hazel) of Blountstown, Florida, Lewis of Los Angeles, Jesse (Laverne) of Chattahoochee, Florida, Ray Charles of Austin, Texas, the late Bernice (Junior), Hazel (the late Fuller) of Blountstown, Florida, Ruby, Irene and Vernell all of Los Angeles, Califorina. His first cousin that was special to him, Will Holmes Jr. and his son Michael of Panama City, Florida, special nephew and niece who kept his groomed during his illness, Joseph Koonce Jr. and his wife Sarah of Panama City, Florida, Harry Bush (Kimberly) of Wildomar, California, Laurett Thomas and her companion Wilfred of Orlando, Florida. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends. Close friends that have traveled the road with him. He loves them dearly; Steve Homerberg (Jill) of Tampa, Florida, Paul Copeland (Tracie) of Chattahoochee, Florida, Ray Lee (Tweetie) of Piedmont, North Carolina, Damien Solis and his dad John of Tampa, Florida, Brittany Erwin of Millry, Alabama; Team Becky sponsor Shawn Jeffries of Tampa, Florida; dearest to his heart Jose Melgar (Danielle) of Tampa, Florida and Jerry Young (Regina) of New Port Richie, Florida; Godsons, Jody Koonce of Daytona, Florida, Ryan Baker (Tiffany) of California, Robert Everett (Gwen) of Blountstown, Florida, Eric Felton of North Dakota, Willie Brown (Tarsha) of Columus, Georgia; the late Richard Gatlin; God daughters, Kneyse Martin of Texas, Sabrina Westbrook and her companion Bernard of Miami, Florida, Sentoria Burrell of Deltona, Florida, Marquita Evans (Herbert) of Tennessee, Angela Jones and her late husband T.T. Jones of Huntsville, Alabama. Special friends that never failed to come when called, Lois and Harry Capehart and the entire Reed family of Grand Ridge, Florida. His church family at St. Rose A.M.E. Church in Grand Ridge, Florida; his cousins the Dawson and Yon Family of Grand Ridge, Florida that he grew up next door to and his many friends in the community.Services to honor James’ life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, 660 Holmes Court Grand Ridge, Florida 32442. The family will have a time of visitation 5 – 7 p.m. central time Friday, January 14, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown 18034 Main St North Blountstown, Florida 32424.
