James Hires

James Richard "Ricky" Hires, age 57, of Blountstown passed away Saturday, November 19 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Born in Marianna, June 21, 1959, Ricky was the son of James Grover Hires and Louise (Stewart) Hires. He was a shop mechanic foreman for Rental, Inc. Ricky was a member of Abe Springs Baptist Church and was a volunteer fireman for Nettle Ridge Fire Department. Ricky was preceded in death by his father, James Grover Hires. Survivors include his wife, Valarie Hires of Blountstown; his mother, Louise Hires, also of Blountstown; his son, Jason Hires of Bristol; two daughters, Kayla Carnley and her husband, Jeffery of Esto, Florida and Genia Burke and her husband, Macky of Hosford; seven grandchildren, Rosa, Jarret, Sara, Tommy, Greenley, Peyton, and Cadence; a brother, Billy Hires and his wife, Patricia of Blountstown; and a sister, Betty Pitts and her husband, Allen, also of Blountstown. The family will receive friends 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 23 at Adams Funeral Home with services to follow in the Chapel with Reverend Allen Pitts officiating.
