James Edison Johnson

James “Jimmy” Edison Johnson, 72 of Bristol, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at his home. Jimmy was born in Quincy, Florida to the late Edison and Lucille Johnson and had lived in Bristol most of his life. He retired from American General Insurance Company after thirty-two years of service where he had the prestigious award of Life Underwriter Fellow and Top Producer. After retirement he enjoyed fishing and traveling. Jimmy is survived by his wife Martha Johnson of Bristol; his son, Jim Johnson and his wife Jamie of Bristol; his daughter, Joan Johnson Wright and her husband Michael of Bristol; his stepdaughter, Pamela Boone of Westville; a sister Chiquita Rudd of Hosford; his grandchildren, Mason and Madison Wright and Emma and Ellie Johnson; his step grandchildren, MacKenzie Burt and Dillon Boone. Services to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held 3:00 p.m. ET Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol with Reverend Cody Watson and Reverend Coy Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Mystic Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held 6 – 7 p.m. ET Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown.
