James Mayhann

James L. "Roy" Mayhann, age 76, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in Dothan, Alabama. Roy was a graduate of Wewahitchka High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Wewahitchka, Florida. He was a retired welder from Georgia Pacific, St. Joe Paper Company and Glidden. He later worked for Michelin Tire. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. Roy enjoyed playing guitar, dancing, fishing, working on cars, and fixing just about anything. He was preceded in death by his parents, James B. and Mary Lois (Starling) Mayhann; nephews, Tony and James; and a niece, Donna. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Elana Crane of Columbus, Georgia; his long- time companion, Elizabeth Saye and her children, Bobby Saye of Conley, Georgia, Judy Williamson of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Annette Taylor of Dallas, Georgia; his grandchildren, Hunter, Sara, Carrie, Casey, and Brandon; brothers, Charles Mayhann, Billy Joe Mayhann, and James T. Mayhann, all of Wewahitchka; sisters, Faye Bishop, Jean Salerno, and Joanne Salerno, all of Wewahitchka; a special great-nephew, Taylor Roy and his mom, Betty; nieces and nephews, Sherry, Julie, Ronald, Dick, Matt, Gina, Joey, Debbie, Jimmy, Mary Jo, Rhonda, Sheila, Jody, Linda Jo, Bryan, Jason, and Kelly; and many other special loved ones. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. CT, Friday, December 14 in Roberts Cemetery in Wewahitchka with Reverend Mike Stroud officiating. The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. CT at the cemetery. Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown, Florida is in charge of the arrangements. Phone 850-674-5449.
