James Willis

James Roy Willis of Blountstown, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the age of 73. James Roy was a native of Blountstown and was retired from Georgia Timberlands. He was former vice president of Ellis Bank of Blountstown, past president of Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, past president of Blountstown Jaycees, and was active in various other organizations. He was a member of Blountstown First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Winnie Rae Willis; his parents, James Roy, Sr. and Fosteen (Spivey) Willis; and his sister, Oveda Taylor. Survivors include Sandra Willis, his wife for 17 years, of Bristol, Florida; his sons, Greg Willis and his wife, Jina of Bristol, Al Willis of Blountstown, and Mitch Willis and his wife, Heather, of Bristol; daughter, Tracy Wood and her husband, Joe of Blountstown; nine grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Powell of Port St. Joe, Florida, Lawanda Ross of Panama City, Florida, and Shirley Howell of Pensacola, Florida. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 p.m. EDT, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Bristol Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Coy Collins and Reverend Dustin Malphurs officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Memorial Cemetery in Blountstown. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. CDT, Friday, May 25, at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown. In lieu of flowers memorials of remembrance may be made to Calhoun-Liberty Ministry Center, 21754 SR 20 E., Blountstown, Florida 32424 or Covenant Hospice, 4440 Lafayette Street, Suite C, Marianna, Florida 32446.
