Matthew Robert Miller, 41 of Havana, Florida was born January 19, 1978 in Iowa City, Iowa. He died February 25, 2019 in Bristol, Florida. Matthew grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and attended West High School where he was on the rowing team. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and a minor in Spanish. He joined the United States Army where he learned Farsi and served in intelligence. He spent time in Iraq and Afghanistan and trained troops going overseas. Matthew loved the peace of kayaking and being in nature. He loved music and playing the piano from birth. Although he read music he preferred to play by ear and make up his own songs. He loved philosophy and reading. He wrote some poetry, essays and an unpublished novel. Matthew is survived by his much-loved children Gwyn, Tristyn and Teyla and his wife Farresa, his parents, Robert and Loretta Miller, and siblings Ann and Jeffrey. A memorial service honoring and celebrating Matthew's life will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at the Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
