Norval Tyre

"Norval" Dean Tyre, age 73 of Blountstown, Florida passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. He was born in River Junction in Chattahoochee, Florida February 11, 1940 to the late Lewis Wingate and Mary Pearl (Waldroff) Tyre. "Norval" served in the United States Air Force for six years and he retired from the Florida Department of Corrections in 1990. He was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Blountstown. Preceding him in death other than his parents were his brother, Aaron Tyre; brother-in-law, Roger Pierson; nephews, Robert P. Carpenter, Jr. and Phillip Aaron Tyre; and a niece, Patricia Kaye Coley. Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Marion (Gold) Tyre; a son, Loran Dean Tyre; daughter, Grace Lynnette Tyre; granddaughter, Jessica Renee Metcalf, all of Blountstown; two brothers, Bobby Tyre and wife Linda of Las Vegas, Nevada and Larry Tyre and wife Paula of Kewadin, Michigan/Sarasota, Florida; three sisters, Marilyn Pierson of Marianna, Florida, Erma Coley also of Marianna, and Beverly Singer and husband, Dr. Robert of Gainesville, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16 at Adams Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Blountstown with Reverend David Goodman and Reverend Larry Broome officiating. Interment will follow in Sunny Hill Cemetery in Altha, Florida with military honors.
