Orvill Eugene Bontrager, 83 of Tallahassee, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at his home. Orvill was born in Hartville, Ohio to the late Jonas and Edna Bontrager and had lived in Tallahassee for the past fifteen years. He was a masonry contractor until his retirement and enjoyed gardening, reading and fishing. Other than his parents, Orvill was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Dewey; his sisters, Wilma Weldy and Mary Edna Martin and his grandsons, Joshua and Christopher Bontrager and his son in law David Coley. Survivors include his sons, Steve and his wife Leona of Texas, David and his wife Missy of Virginia, Wade and his wife Kim of North Carolina and Scott and his wife Jana of Idaho; his daughters, Marti Coley of Tallahassee and Stephanie Kennedy and her husband Patrick of Texas; nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; his brothers, Jonas, Laban, Reuben, Daniel and James Bontrager; his sisters, Sarah Mullet, Viola Miller and Dorcas Goodman and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family. Services to honor and to celebrate Orvill’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Red Oak Cemetery.
