Peggy Shoemake

Peggy Carol Shoemake, 79 of Bristol, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at her home. Peggy was born January 25, 1940 to the late Abe Gay and Thadene Lewis Nance. She and her husband Shelby were members of Lake Mystic Baptist Church. She was retired as the manager for Breen Group Home in Bristol and had previously worked at Liberty Intermediate Care Facility. She was preceded in death by her husband Shelby Shoemake; a brother, Jim Nance, a sister, Ann Meyer and a granddaughter, Cassie O'Bryan Dabney. Survivors include her daughters; Debra Barber and her husband Gerald of Bristol, Karen Tomlinson and her husband David of Blountstown, Kathy Hayes and her husband Doobie of Bristol, Necy Deason and her husband Rob of Blountstown, Julie Scott and her husband Marty of Tennessee, Tammy Shoemake O'Bryan and her husband Ricky of Bristol; her sons, Tom Shoemake and his wife Christi of Blountstown and Tony Shoemake and his wife Leann also of Blountstown; brothers, Jerry Nance and his wife Mary Helen of Trent, Texas, Paul Nance and his wife Mary Lee of Weatherford, Texas, and Richard Nance and his wife Cindy of Austin, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Services to celebrate Peggy's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2019 at Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol with Reverend Jerry Chumley officiating. Private interment will follow.
