Roy Lamar Flanders

Roy Lamar “Fatcat” Flanders, 60 of Altha, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, in Marianna. Roy was born December 17, 1963, in Albany, Georgia to Felix and Helen Flanders and was a welder. He was an avid outdoorsman; hunting and fishing anytime he got the chance. He enjoyed people and sharing stories and especially his Aunt Juanita Chance’s coconut cake.

Roy is preceded in death by his father Felix Flanders and his dog Rusty who loved jumping in the back of his truck anytime Roy had an errand to run.

He is survived by his mother Helen Flanders; his cousin Debbie Griswold and her husband David; his closest friend Brian Keith and his wife Patty and several other cousins, family and friends as well as his dog Daisy.

Services to honor Roy’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Hagan officiating. Interment will follow in New Shiloh Cemetery near Altha. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. After the services all friends and family are invited to a reception at Hasty Pond Baptist Church fellowship hall.
