Ruth Mullin

Ruth Eleanor Mullin, age 89, of Blountstown, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in Marianna, Florida. Ruth was born in Freeport, Illinois, February 21, 1924, to the late Otto Carl and Clara (Buck) Ketelhut. She served in the United States Navy during World War II and later retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company where she worked as a long distant operator. Ruth was a born again Christian who dedicated her life to helping others and telling them about Jesus. She was a member of Travelers Rest Free Will Baptist Church in Clarksville, Florida where she taught Sunday school, helped in Prison Ministry, and also was a volunteer at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold and Carl; and sisters, Gertrude, Pauline, Helen and Dorothy. Survivors include two sons, Patrick Mullin of Blountstown and Timothy Mullin of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Charolette Januse of Altha, Florida; two grandchildren; and a brother, Roger Ketelhut of Wanawa, Wisconsin. Ruth was not just a mother, but also a friend to her children and will be missed more than any words could ever express. Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Travelers Rest Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Shawn Williams officiating. Interment followed in Travelers Rest Cemetery with full military honors. The family received friends 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, May 10 at Adams Funeral Home.
