Thomas Varnum, age 62, of Bristol, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at his home. He was a 1966 graduate of Blountstown High School and was of the Pentecostal faith. He worked in construction early in life; then was a correctional officer at ACI, and later retired from Liberty Corrections. Survivors include his wife of twenty-two years, Ruby Varnum of Bristol; a son, Tommy Ray Varnum and his wife, Marie of Bristol; two daughters, Carol Varnum of Tallahassee and Cheryl Jacobs of Bristol; two stepsons, Parley Shuler of Bristol and Wendal Shuler and his wife, Kay of Bristol; a step-daughter, Jerilyn Ammons of Bristol; sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Varnum and his wife, Mary Ellen of Bristol, a sister Ruby Wells and her husband, Carl of Tallahassee; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. ET-9:00 a.m. CT, Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in the Chapel at Adams Funeral Home with Reverend David Goodman officiating.
