Thomas Jefferson Whitfield, Jr

Thomas J Whitfield, 80 of Tallahassee, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Tallahassee. Tom was born in Blountstown, April 15, 1941, to the late Thomas Sr and Thelma Whitfield. He worked for the City of Tallahassee as a revenue officer for many years until his retirement. He was a veteran serving in the United States Marines later continuing his service in the Reserves. He was a volunteer chaplain and a Sunday school teacher at Lakewood Baptist Church. He was active spreading the gospel in jails and prisons in Monticello, Liberty County, Calhoun County and Tallahassee.Other than his parents Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Francis Graham.Survivors include his wife Anna Louvern Whitfield of Tallahassee; his sons, Jeffery Scott Whitfield of Tallahassee, Thomas J Whitfield III of Havana and a stepson, Vernon Geddie of Tallahassee; a brother, Jerry Whitfield of Tallahassee; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.No public services will be held.
