Ruth Fraser, age 91, of Blountstown, Florida passed away peacefully at home early Monday, October 7, 2013 after an extended illness. She was born November 6, 1921, to Claude and Mariah Berrong. She lived in Marietta, Georgia until 1987 when she moved to Blountstown to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Ruth retired as a front-end manager for Food Giant in Marietta, Georgia, as well as bookkeeper for her husband's residential and commercial development business in the Atlanta area. She was past board member for the Calhoun County Senior Citizens Association; founding member of Helping Hands; and member of First United Methodist Church of Blountstown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Fraser; her parents; her brother, Paul Berrong; sisters, Leila, Nora, Cora, and Louise; and Doug Peacock, son-in-law. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Marler Peacock of Blountstown; grandchildren, Kim and Jay Jackson of Sneads, Jason and Kelli Dunn of Blountstown; great-grandchildren, Jake and Jordan Jackson, and Scott and Kelly Dunn. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, at First United Methodist Church in Blountstown. The service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be Saturday, October 12, at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta with visitation at 1:00 p.m., ET and burial at 2:00 p.m. ET.
