Betty Jean Mercer, 79 of Hosford, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021, in Tallahassee. Betty was born in Tallahassee April 4, 1942, to the late Roean and Nellie (Gray) Morgan. She lived in Hosford most of her life and was retired from the Department of Labor as a data entry clerk.
She is preceded in death by her husband Tom "Shorty" Mercer and her son, Terry Sterling Mercer.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Mercer of Hosford; her brothers, Roy Thomas Morgan of Havana, Silas Edward Morgan of Tallahassee, James Henry Morgan of Wakulla and John Solomon Morgan of Boise, Idaho; her sisters, Nellie Marie Morgan of West Palm Beach, Rose Ann Barnhill of Monticello and Julia Jeanette Morgan of Crawfordville; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. est Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Blue Creek Cemetery near Hosford with James Morgan officiating.
