Obituary of Katie Jean Richards

Katie Jean Richards of Bristol, was a loving sister, aunt, and friend. She asked for so little but gave so very much. She departed this life and gained her angel wings on February 3, 2022. She was 86 years old. Katie is preceded in death by her parents Emmett & Mary Dasher of Bristol. She is survived by her sister, Frances Phinney (Bud) and brother Coy Dasher both of Bristol, FL. She was a proud Aunt to her nieces and nephews. Shane Phinney (Charla) of Quincy, FL; Sharmon Parrish (Ricky) of Bristol, FL; Sean Phinney (Jennifer) of Tallahassee, FL; Stuart Phinney of Bristol, FL; Burke Dasher (Kathy) of Bristol, FL; and Durwood “Woody” Steward of Bristol, FL; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Katie loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family, baking, and sewing. She enjoyed taking her nieces and nephews on many adventures. She could be seen from any side of the county or surrounding counties. From movie nights at the Blountstown Drive in Theater to skating rinks in Marianna and Apalachicola with a load of silly girls, to sitting on a swing enjoying God’s magnificent beauty in the Mountains, to camping and fishing in just about every river or pond around and enjoying Mexico Beach. Katie loved her nieces and nephews fiercely. She Loved and was Loved so very much. Katie worked for Russell’s Sewing Factory in Marianna, FL, for 30+ years before retiring. Katie will be honored in a Celebration of Life on March 5, 2022, at 10:30 am (ET) at the Bristol United Methodist Church on Hwy. 20, Bristol, FL. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
