Obituary of Bernice Whitfield

Bernice Whitfield, 85 of Blountstown, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022. Bernice was born July 13, 1936, in Frink, Florida to the late E.G. and Leero Summerlin. She was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and was a Therapy Assistant at River Valley for twenty-three years and a member of the first United Methodist Church in Blountstown for over fifty years. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Donnell Whitfield, her stepson, Mark Whitfield, and her sisters, Joyce Brown and Linda Nichols. Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Stacy and his wife Patricia of Marianna, Tracey Stacy of Blountstown; her daughter, Patricia McPhaul of Blountstown; her stepson, Steve Whitfield and his wife Vicky; her grandchildren, Paula Rich and her husband Jamie of Kinard and Phyllis Causseaux and her husband Jason of Crawfordville; her step grandchildren, Doug Whitfield and his wife Ashley of Blountstown, Drew Whitfield, Ashley Darden and her husband JoJo of Blountstown and Amanda Hires and her husband Clay of Blountstown and five great grandchildren. Services to honor and to celebrate Bernice’s life will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Faircloth officiating. Interment will follow in Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown. The family will have a time of visitation prior to services beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the Funeral Home.
