Robert Zane Harrell, 96 of Altha passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at his home with his family at his side. Robert was born December 25, 1925, in Altha to the late Harmon and Alice Harrell. He retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Electrician and served in World War II and Korea. After retiring from the Navy, he continued to work as an electrician and eventually moved back to Altha.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife Mae Vandersteen Harrell.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathleen Gunter and her husband Thomas of Marietta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Thomas Gunter, Jr., Wendy Wolf and Brandi Cheeley; his great grandchildren, Annie, Jackson, Henry, Charlie, Olivia, Gunter and Zane; his brothers, Jerry Harrell and D.G “Pete” Harrell and his wife Joyce all of Altha; his sisters, Vera Bodiford of Blountstown and Dorothy Davis of Altha.
Services to honor and to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha. Prior to services there will be a time of visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice 4540 Lafayette St Suite G, Marianna, FL 32446
