Obituary of Billy Lee Hand

Billy Lee Hand, 64 of Blountstown, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, in Tallahassee. Billy was born in Panama City, Florida, January 31, 1959, to the late Billy Edgar and Bonnie Adams Hand. Billy worked in the trucking industry for several years before going to work for the Calhoun County Road Department where he worked until his retirement. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren (aka “the babies”) whom he loved passionately. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Bonnie Hand and his brother Ronnie Hand. Survivors include his wife, Magdaline Hand of Blountstown; his son, James Sherrod and his wife Kaylene of Blountstown; his daughter, Erica Bellamy of Blountstown; his brother, James Hand and his wife Kelly of Crawfordville; his sisters, Barbara Collier and her husband Mark of Blountstown and Mary Lou Bodiford and her husband Billy of Hosford; his sister-in-law, Joleata Hand of Blountstown and his grandchildren, Kiera Bellamy, Easton Sherrod and Melanie Sherrod. Services to honor Billy’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Blountstown with Reverend Tim Rhoads officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Clarksville. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to services at First Baptist Church. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
