Obituary of Fred Lewis Henson

Fred “Freddie” Lewis Henson, 88 of Telogia, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, in Tallahassee. He was born in Franklin, North Carolina, March 15, 1936, to Fred and Gladys Henson. Fred moved from Franklin North Carolina in the early 60s to Plant City Florida where he owned and ran a service station for many years. He later went to work for Shop and Go convenient stores, and met the love of his life, Mickey. He retired as a Regional Manager with Shop and Go and found their retirement home in Telogia in 2000. He loved fishing and hunting and telling old stories of his younger days from running a little shine in the mountains to stories of big bucks and the race that went with it. When it came to the woods Fred was well loved and highly revered. He was one of the last “old timers” around his area and will be dearly missed by all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Mary Will Cansler and Shirley Ann Gregory. Survivors include his wife, Mickey Henson; his children, Dawn Parker and Jean Ferrer; his grandchildren Ethan Parker, Hunter Parker, Gavin Touchton, Jennifer Ferrer-Salo, Travis Ferrer, and Shannon Ferrer; his great grandchildren, Dylan Ferrer, Allie Ferrer, Lillie Grace Salo and Rayleigh Salo as well as a host of other extended family. Memorialization will be by cremation. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be made at 850-674-5449
