Obituary of Mary B. Marchant

Mary Marchant, age 84, of Blountstown passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 in Blountstown. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was very active in Prison Ministry. Mary was also a member of the Red Hat Society and a volunteer for Calhoun County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice and the daughter-in-law of the late R.C. Marchant of Parker, Florida. Survivors include her son, Steve Marchant and his wife, Sandy of Blountstown; two granddaughters, Stephanie Brogden and her husband, Keith and Nicole Purvis and her husband, Brad; great-grandchildren, Rendi Brogden and Barrett Purvis; a step-granddaughter, Natalie Essinger; two sisters, Marjorie Wood of Blountstown and Jean Williams of Jessup, Georgia; many nieces and nephews and special friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 20, from the Blountstown First Baptist Church with Reverend David Throckmorton officiating. Interment will follow in Boggs Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 19 at Adams Funeral Home.
