Vina Evelyn Hitchcock of Clarksville/Carr Community passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the age of 91 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was born March 19, 1919 to the late John Wesley and Lilla (Baggett) Parham. She was a member of Glory Hill Community Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Hitchcock.
She is survived by her son, Doyle Hitchcock and his wife, Lois of Atlanta, Georgia; her daughter, Doris H. Bowers of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Darron and David Bowers, Becky Marlin, John Hitchcock and Cindy Humphries; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Glory Hill Community Church with Reverend Riley Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery in Clarksville. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 4 at the church.
