Ninva B. Grooms, 87 of Altha, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 at her home. Ninva was born December 1, 1932 to the late W.K. Baggett and Mattie Alday Baggett. She was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of the Altha Church of God. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Claude Grooms; her brothers, Bill, Pete, and Ellis Baggett; her sisters, Mary Sewell, Fronie Adkins, Candice Burke, Rene Stanley, Dot Bethel, Sue Baggett and Nancy Pierce. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Nichols and her husband Sam of Altha; her brothers L.N. Baggett and Bobby Baggett and his wife Linda all of Altha; her grandchildren, Amber and Samantha Nichols both of Altha. Services to honor and to celebrate Ninva’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Altha Church of God with Reverend Allan Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunny Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the Church. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
