Obituary of LENA WARD

Lena M. Ward, 90 of Bristol passed away on May 11, 2020. Lena was born in Sumatra on Dec 4, 1929 to James (Bee) Miller and Carrie Miller and lived in Liberty County most of her life.
Her accomplishments were many. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Lake Mystic Baptist Church.
She was a lifelong bookkeeper and served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Florida State Bookkeepers Association as well as chairperson of the Honey Queen, on both the state and local level. She promoted honey everywhere she went.
She married Claude Ward of Telogia in 1949.
She was the director of the Liberty County Senior Citizens and helped write the first grants for the Big Bend Transit.
She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and helping her fellow man. Lena was an auditor for the comptroller’s office in Tallahassee for 10 years.
Survivors include one son Chip Ward and his wife Tina Ward of Blountstown; daughter Suzy Hobbs of Bainbridge, GA; four grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
