Leon Edward “Eddie” Williams, 77 of Altha, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 in Marianna. Eddie was born in Marianna, October 20, 1943, to the late Wilber Alonzo Williams and Hazel Magdaline Coley. Eddie served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He later began working in law enforcement. Eddie worked with many police departments including Ocala, Chattahoochee, Grand Ridge, Marianna and Altha. He also worked as a EMT for several years. Eddie later came to Calhoun County in 1979 were he began operating Eddie’s Paint and Body until his retirement. Eddie loved traveling with his wife to Bluegrass festivals and camping with their friends. His greatest love was his wife and family.
Other than his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Williams and Eugene Williams; a sister, Verna Lou Mathis and a son in law Larry Plazarin.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Janet Williams of Altha; his son, Leon Edward Williams II and his wife Theresa of Marianna; his daughters, Tanya Tableriou of Panama City and Kristy Plazarin of Blountstown; his brother, Carl Williams and his wife Violet of Altha; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Foster, Hunter Clark, Hannah Robbins, Caleb Robbins, Carina Plazarin and Christian Plazarin and a great grandchild, Mekayla Robbins.
Services to honor and to celebrate Eddie’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dewayne Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow in Sunny Hill Cemetery near Altha. The family will have a time of visitation 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Adams Funeral Home. All are invited to join with social distancing protocols.
