Ila Mae Chandler, 86, passed away Thursday December 23, 2020 in Repton, Alabama. Ila was born March 20, 1934 in Walton County to the late John and Annie Hinote Richardson. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to cook and quilt. Ila especially enjoyed working in the garden and loved her flowers and Christmas cactus’ she grew. She also enjoyed singing and playing the piano and was a member of the Abe Springs Baptist Church. Other than her parents Ila is preceded in death by her son Marty Strickland; her sisters, Grace, Elsie, Ida, Dorothy, Iris and Faye; a granddaughter Chasity Armstrong. Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Hall and her husband Greg and Deborah Brandley and her husband James; her son, Karlton Strickland and his wife Beverly; her sisters, Ernestine Sadler and Mavis Bell and her husband Walt; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other extended family as well as a special friend Steve Shivers. Services to celebrate Ila’s life will be held 12:00 p.m. est Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St Joe with Reverend Allen Pitts officiating. Interment will follow.
