Melba Newsome Tyus, 69 of Blountstown, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 in Pensacola. Melba was born in Tallahassee, November 1, 1951 to the late Alfred and Bessie (Parsons) Newsome. She lived in Calhoun County most of her life and was an office manager for home healthcare. She was a member of Glory Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Melba is preceded in death by her son, Stephen Egler and a brother, Henry Levi Newsome.
Survivors include her son, Eugene Egler of Blountstown; a daughter, Katherine Hall of Altha; her brothers, Larry Newsome of Tampa and Irvin Newsome of Quincy; a sister, Elsie Cauley of Blountstown; her grandchildren, Chrissanda Hall, Danika Egler and Paisley Egler.
Memorialization will be by cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
