Thomas Wilson “Tommy” Duggar, Sr. 78 of Bristol passed away Monday, July 19, 2021. Tommy was a native and lifelong resident of Liberty County where he served the public, the community and his God. He graduated Liberty County High School and attended Barber College in Tallahassee. While he ran his barber shop, he also served his community as a School Board Member for twenty-four years and served as Liberty County Commissioner for four years. Tommy was a member of Lake Mystic Baptist Church where he served as a Royal Ambassador Leader and Sunday School President. Tommy had a way with people and always went out of his way for others and always put others before himself. In his retirement he enjoyed working on his farm, making cane syrup and sharing with family and friends.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Homer H. Duggar and Flossie Mae Alderman Duggar; his brothers, Albert and H.C. Duggar and his sister, Linda Summers.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Linda Duggar; his son, Tommy Duggar, Jr. and his wife Melanie of Bristol; his brother, James Duggar of Bristol; a sister, Myra Goodman of Bristol and his grandchildren, Thayne Duggar and Wayne Arnold.
Services to honor and to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held 10:00 a.m. EST Friday, July 23, 2021, at Lake Mystic Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Chumbley officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Mystic Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 – 7 p.m. CST Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown.
