Laura Davene Bailey Connelly, 78 of Blountstown passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 in Indianola, Mississippi. Laura was born in Marianna, December 15, 1942, to the late George Dale Bailey and Allie Kay (Kent) Bailey. She lived in Calhoun County most of her life and operated the Swanee Swifty convenience store in Blountstown along with her husband George for many years until retirement.
Laura is preceded in death by her husband George P. Connelly, Jr.; her brothers, Burns Odell “Bob” Bailey and Royce “Pete” Bailey and three grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Chris Connelly and his wife Neldian, George Connelly III, John Connelly and his wife Donna and Robert Connelly and his wife Barbara; her daughters, Tammie Connelly, Tabatha Connelly and Theresa Connelly-Atkins and her husband Ernest; seventeen grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren.
A memorial to celebrate Laura’s life will be held at a later date.
