Violet Louise “Doll Baby” Mathis, 83 of Blountstown passed away Sunday in Blountstown. Violet was born in Blountstown, December 6, 1937, to the late George and Lessie Mae Weathers and was a homemaker.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband Willie “Bill” Mathis, Sr.; her son, Donald Mathis; her daughter, Thelma Mae Mathis; her brothers, George “Monkey” Weathers and Bobby Gene Weathers and her sisters, Kathleen McCormick and Janice Bass.
Survivors include her son, Willie D. Mathis Jr. and his partner Barbara of Altha; her daughter, Hilda Bowen and her husband Donald of Blountstown; eight grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Services to honor and to celebrate Violet’s life will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, at Red Oak Cemetery near Blountstown. Social distancing is requested according to CDC guidelines.
