Obituary of William G Odom

William Goree Odom of Live Oak, Florida passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in Live Oak. William was born September 27, 1944 in Quincy, Florida to the late Homer Goree and Lavonia Ruby (Larkins) Odom. He was a graduate of Liberty County High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1964.William was a dedicated maintenance supervisor for Gold Kist and his favorite pastime was hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by a son, Billy Odom and his wife Michelle of West Virginia; a daughter, Kim Tanner and husband Warren of Blountstown, Florida; five grandchildren, Logan and Jared Odom and Brett, Colby, and Hope Tanner; brothers, Lamar Odom and wife Linda of Lake City, Florida, Jessie Odom of Telogia, Florida, and Goree Odom of Blountstown; sisters, Myrlene Carson and husband Lewis D. of Bristol, Florida and Lois Odom also of Bristol; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. ET, Thursday, May 16 at Lake Mystic Cemetery. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. ET with Reverend David Goodman officiating and with full military honors. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Phone 674-5449.
