I enjoyed knowing Betty and teaching with her for years at Gretna Elem School. She was a great teacher and many of the students who attended Gretna can thank her for her hard work in teaching them to read and love books. We shared many hours talking about her love if her family, our health oroblems and our dedication to education. When she and John lived in Sawdust, I was given the chance to share some of their farm and meat poducts. Generosity was abig part of Betty's personality. I was honored to have her as an example of a good teacher and a good person. Lila Shuler
