Was sadden to hear that a fellow red hat and friend has left us. I remember those marathon Monopoly games we played on weekends when we were stationed at George AFB. I AM AN AIR FORCE COMBAT ARMS INSTRUCTOR My country's strength lies in the men and women I train and their weapons which I maintain. My students hold faith and place great trust in me. Their lives depend on my ability and their confidence in my integrity, for in a time of war their talent will be sorely needed. They are to be treated with fairness and discretion for my country's resources are entrusted to their watchful eye, and their survival is in my hands. My students I MUST not fail, my students I WILL not fail For mine is a proud heritage, and fostering it is MY responsibility! Is the line READY!!!

Mike,
My Friend you will be missed! As we share stories about our time with you, I would like to reflect upon the time at Rhein Main AB Germany. You are Man of Respect, one who not only earned it, you gave it back! You are forever in my thoughts. Til we meet again!

It’s hard for me to know where to begin to pay tribute to Mike. I think of his leadership, professionalism, and expertise as an Air Force senior non-commissioned officer and especially his exceptional skill as a marksmanship instructor and gunsmith. However, these were not Mike’s true gifts. Mike cared for people and gave unconditionally to everyone with whom he came in contact. Mike placed others’ needs before his own and never sought recognition or thanks for anything he did. In fact, he is probably upset that I am writing this. Mike gave me a reason to stay in the Air Force, by taking the time to mentor me and pass along some of his knowledge. He convinced me that I could contribute and make positive changes. But he didn’t focus on the job, he taught me that the people whose lives you touch and make better are the true rewards to any job. Mike certainly did that for me and so much more. We go through our lives wanting to matter, wanting to change the world; Mike changed the world. He made the world a better place and he left a positive influence on everything and everyone he touched. I thank God for the absolute privilege of knowing Mike and for the time he allowed me to share with him. I will forever remember every conversation, every piece of advice and every moment of joy he added to my life. Mike, I will miss you dearly my friend. The world is not as good without you here. Walk with Jesus my brother. I will see you again and you will teach me and show me all the new wonders you have discovered. I love you Mike, thank you for being part of my life.

I knew Mike from his service as a USAF Combat Arms Instructor in Germany. He was a true professional and served his country well. Mike is well respected in the Combat Arms Profession and among his peers. I know he is among so many Red Hats that have also joined the Final Relay and he is in good company in Heaven. Well done Mike.

Michael was my cousin, but I felt he was more like a brother as we were growing up. If we could be together we were! Sometime distances kept us apart for long times, but he was always there in my heart. When we were small we would wrestle and fight to get to know each other again, but neither of us got mad, it was all just for fun. Later we would go hunting for rabbits or birds or anything, even fish. Not fishing but hunting for them. A few years later we would go girl hunting, but neither of us were very good or lucky at it. We were both able to get the nicest and sweetest girls in the world! After we got married we went our on ways as we should have and saw each other very little. Nothing can take away my memories of my brother, Michael. Missed but never forgotten!

My fondest memories of Michael were when we were children and he would come to the Condron family get togethers. In my selfishness I was glad he was there because it gave my younger brother Rickey someone his age to play with and they would leave us "older" kids alone. (I was all of 3 years older.) But I also remember how much fun Michael and Rickey had together. Michael was always smiling and we did not get to see him enough. Then life happened to us all, we grew up and grew apart. Through the years I thought of Michael often and wondered where life had taken him. Then a few years ago through a tragedy I got to spend a few days with Michael again. I met Kay and saw what a wonderful couple they were. They were lucky to have each other. During those couple of days I met Michael the man. He was still loving, happy and had grown very wise. I wish I could have had more time with you but I am very glad I had what time I did. Michael you will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with Kay and family during this unbearable time. Mike was such a kind soul that shone so bright! He is up there now dancing with Jesus and my little girl. God bless you and may He grant you peace and understanding through these hard days. We love you!
