Obituary of Ernest Clayton Martin

Ernest Clayton Martin of Fountain passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 in Marianna at the age of 86. He was born in Ohio March 31, 1925 to the late Harry Clayton and Pauline Hereld (Robbins) Martin. He retired as a Park Superintendant for the State of Florida. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Forty and Eight, and AmVets. He was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Martin; two sons, James Russell Martin and Ernest Eugene Martin; and a great-grandchild, Madison Noel Sorrells. He is survived by two sons, John Martin and his wife, Sue of Birmingham, Alabama and Lee Martin and his wife, Ann of Youngstown, Florida; two daughters, Ann Culpepper and her husband, Roy and Kaye McDaniel and her husband, Dave, both of Mobile, Alabama; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a brother, James Lee Martin and wife, Patricia; a sister, Joyce Sanford, both of Ohio; and a devoted niece, Eileen Hereld and her husband, Harry of Bristol. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown with Reverend Gino Mayo and Reverend Forest Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown is in charge of the arrangements.
