How do you sum up knowing someone for almost 50 years? (45 I remember well.) The times that the Roland Graybill clan showed up in Orr's Island, Me. for some lobsters, laughter, RV travel were some of the best times of my life. I still remember our trekk through the many towns of Maine in the RV. The family reunion in Maine w/ the RV in the back yard and the fun filled days showing The Galva families our beautiful island paradise. R.L. trying to put crab boil in the maine lobster pot. Wow, that caused quite a stir w/ his old Uncle Kenneth! (cheeky smile). Speaking of cheeky smiles, Uncle Rollie possessed the best one. He would smile, shake is head, and say "I love ya Baby" in a very unique Uncle Rollie way, you know that southern-midwestern drawl way. Then he'd give a hug and you knew that you were loved and special at that moment. Although we lived very far away from the Galva families, the memories gleaned from the times we were able to spend w/ you all have been the highlights of my life as a child/teenager/young adult. I remember my 7th birthday spent traveling in the car headed for Panama City via Galva, IA. We traveled a lot that winter. Going to several schools along the way. We showed up in Panama city on my 7th birthday. The Roland Graybills' were living in a trailer at the time. We had a terrible storm and the rain had fallen so much that it was up to the door of the trailer. There were snakes swimming by, etc etc. One of the neighbors chihuahua (sp) had just had puppies, they looked like little rats, so cute. We got to see the beautiful white sands of the Florida panhandle that time visiting as well. I remember the beach being so magically white and it being covered by platter sized jellyfish. It was the only time for me in Panama City, but in Uncle Rollie and Aunt Marilyn's way it was such a special visit that I have remembered it for 43 years! There are too many stories to share here that I will hold close in my heart. I just remember the wonderful anticipation of the Roland Graybill family showing up in Maine and the good times that would be had by all!
God sure has a funny Angel up there R.L. and Keith. How fortunate that you both grew up w/such an amazing man! He will be remembered fondly by this Maine neice. Our love and prayers to you and your families as you say goodbye today. I love you both.

Three memories stand out to me in remembering Uncle Rolly...
I remember being a little kid coming into Grandma and Grampa's house and Uncle Ross, Uncle Kenny, Kennyboy and Warn, Uncle Rolly, Kieth, Grampa and my dad all sitting around the Kitchen table having coffee and all the smokers smoking cigarettes or pipes. I can still hear the laughter and smell the smoke. I remember how sweet the pipe smoke smelled. We'd load up and head out to go pheasant hunting and I got to walk along. It was one of my fondest memories of childhood with the Graybill clan.
I remember coming to Panama City for spring break one year and going to the river with the rope swing. Drinking a few beers and having a good ol' time.
The last time I saw Uncle Rolly was when he was in Minnesota adjusting for ice dams on roofs one winter. They came up to the house in Pequot (3 hours north) just to see us and we grilled a really great steak!
